Let nature take care of itself

Nature knows very well how to take care of itself. So keep your hands off. Drop nature conservation and directives, let go and let go, and let nature all over the world go wild and undisturbed again. This is the recipe for reversing the decline in the number of species worldwide, says scientist and biologist Jens Christian Svenning from Aarhus University.

Jens Christian Svenning directs an international group of scientists (BIOCHANGE) that is trying to persuade biologists and politicians to help rewild nature by enabling natural processes to shape land and sea. Because by restoring nature, the species do better than they do today. It also being recognised that it is essential, together with biodiversity, to address the climate challenge and assure a healthy and sustainable future. Science Journalist Henrik Prætorius interviews Professor Svenning (in Danish).
