The immune system

What does our immune system consist of and how does it work? The immune system is not just some cells or antibodies that can defend us against viruses, bacteria, parasites and other things that threaten our health. The immune system consists of a large number of different systems, each of which has its own mechanism of action, and which works with the whole organism, and which can be mobilized if necessary.

In this podcasts, Science Journalist Jens Degett from Science Stories talks with immunologist and Doctor Beatrice Dyring-Andersen from Gentofte Hospital and the University of Copenhagen about how the immune system works and why we get allergies, psoriasis and eczema (in Danish).
