Christine Heller del Riego has been communicating science in Europe for more than 20 years. She received her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from UPMC Sorbonne University, after completing an EU Research Fellowship at Supélec, France.  She was a professor of Electrical Machines  from 1996-2012 at her Alma Mater, ICAI Engineering School, Comillas University in Madrid, Spain.

She was a member of the  Governing Board of EuroScience (2018 - 2022 and 2000 - 2008), one of the founders of the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) in Stockholm in 2004, and programme manager of ESOF 2014 in Copenhagen.
